Welcome
About Me – Erica Cecil, RN, Doula, CLC
My name is Erica Cecil, and I am a registered nurse with over 20 years of experience in labor and delivery, childbirth education, lactation consulting, and postpartum care. My journey began with the birth of my first son (now 23) and the honor of attending my nephew’s birth shortly after. Those life-changing experiences led me to nursing school, where I earned my nursing degree at Brockton Hospital School of Nursing and later my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UMass Boston.
I am a certified lactation consultant, completing my training through The Healthy Families Project of Cape Cod. I am also doula-trained with DONA International through Birthing Gently of Boston and hold certifications in NRP, ACLS, and BLS. For six years, I taught Childbirth Education for South Coast Health, and I have also studied HypnoBirthing and Spinning Babies techniques. Over the course of my career, I have supported hundreds—if not thousands—of deliveries, with particular strengths in high-risk pregnancy and diabetes management.
I have worked in hospitals, birth centers, and home birth settings, including 15 years in the Family Centered and Labor & Delivery Unit at St. Luke’s Hospital. In 2024, I made the difficult decision to step away from hospital-based work to focus on a more personal, family-centered approach to care. As a doula and birth advocate, I now have the privilege of taking the time to truly get to know families, support their wishes, and help them navigate one of life’s most powerful transitions with compassion and confidence.
In addition to my private practice, I work per diem with a nonprofit organization in Fall River, providing postpartum home visits for new mothers and babies. I am deeply committed to reducing health disparities in underserved communities and ensuring all families have access to supportive, empowering care.
I consider it an incredible gift to be invited into such a sacred moment in people’s lives, and my mission is to help every family feel seen, heard, and supported as they welcome their baby into the world.
